So Close, But OH SO FAR

WOW. It is almost the end of the year and I don't know what I am going to do with myself. This means that my sports will be ending (I mean sort of...) and I will be around my sisters ALL DAY. My summer is going to consist of basketball, basketball, more basketball, and cross country, and more cross country... Along with whatever else rears it's head. Plus I will have summer homework...woopee...sophmoredome is coming up fast. That means 2 YEARS until I am a senior. :O

Adding to all of this 'awesomeness' is the fact that my mother is a @#)(*% and I cannot handle my family, yet I am being stuck with them more. I thought being older was supposed to mean more freedom. Not less.

Right now I'm watching Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. So I'm going to leave you with that.

I know you'll miss me...

BRAVO!

O.M.G. cue the crazy giggling because my sister is a GENIUS (Victoria that is...). Have you ever been around a guy who drowns himself in Axe cologne or body spray and you just about die? Well Victoria has deemed this phenomenon the "Axemosphere" like 'atmosphere'? Am I the only one who thinks this is COMPLETELY genuis? So next time you end up behind someone who needs to lay off the spray, just tell them that "They're killing you with their axemosphere"!

HEEEHEEEE!

These are a few of my favorite things...

Not much has really happened since the last post, but I had a couple basketball games (the first two, in fact) and also, I just so happened to inform Clara of the existance of the site. Obviously she took it well because she set up her own little secret baby (Sports, Guys and Chocolate is where it is) so its all good. She has yet to call me a crazy psychopath or anything like that-of course I'm guessing that she hasn't read all of the posts. That can make a difference.

As you may be able to see, I'm slowly but surely adding some Christmas-ness to the blog. You know what that means right?! A NEW VIDEO! This is a sweet song by Capital Lights. You should listen to it. Do it. I promise its not screamo (aHEM *cough*yella*cough*). :)

As far as basketball goes, we won the first game and lost the second game (the loss was like 43 to like 21 or something like that but that team TOTALLY was rediculous.). I have many comments about my team and the games that I could make, but I'm not going to burden y'all with them because it would just take more time. Over all, I guess my team is ok, some of the people are nice, and one person really gets on my nerves and the rest are popular people, but that's ok. We work pretty well together (although no one passes the ball to me even when I'm wide open unless the coach forces them to) and we won the first game with a score similar to that of the one that we lost. The coach is good too, and even though when you see him at a game and he's yelling like he's coaching in the Super Bowl it won't seem like it, he's pretty nice.

So the loss was yesterday and also yesterday, I hung out at Clara's house (I practically live over there, and I'm sure her parents are sick of it) and I feel kinda bad because her dad got mad at her( did I mention what happened to him?!) for not doing the 4 dishes in the sink. Shh, but I think his hand/being stuck at home might have shortened his temper. For those of you that don't know, her dad shot his hand and lost a finger and can't go back to work for a while. Thats the long story shot...I mean short.

All I did today was go Christmas shopping and go to church and sit in the car while my mom moved some stuff for my cousin Jen. Oh ya, and I was over at Clara's house AGAIN to drop off Victoria, who was gonna go and babysit with Clara's sister.

AH! Queen Veronica has unshunned me for no apparant reason. All the sudden she started talking to me in Geometry and now she half smiles at me in the hallways and she INVITED ME OVER TO HER HOUSE. Except I had this drill thing the next morning (a.k.a yesterday) so I said I couldn't. I've decided that I'm not gonna bite her head off or anything because thats kinda not worth the energy.

The drill thing? It was interesting. We, as in the people there, went to a class for like 3 min, then we acted like it was passing time and then we were supposed to go to our next class. That for me, was lunch. When Clara and I got almost into the lunchroom, the first gunshot was fired-oh my bad, if I didn't already tell you, this was a simulation to what would happen if there was a shooter in the building and the had police, fire and medical responders there too.- so we ran into a room and sat there in the dark on the cold floor for about an hour an a half or so, and then some guy came to one of the doors and was like "The drill is off, open the door" and a guy went to open it and everyone was likke "NO NO DON'T OPEN IT!" but then the principal came in the other door and was like "I think something is wrong" and then we opened the door and part of the cafeteria had flooded! So they called off the drill early.

Quite eventful no?

Awkward much?

Well ladies and gentlemen, the day has come again where we share our awkward stories and laugh (and cringe) with each other! This event is hosted by the lovely Tova, so follow the rules! (Post, link back, then add your linkey to her list and all that fun stuff)
So this awkwardness takes place not long ago, as in like winter break ish, so December. My sisters and dad were in tow, and that causes the awkwardness...just you wait.

It was getting to be towards the end of winter break, and it was after Christmas, and my psycho dad insisted that we take a TWO DAY DRIVE all the way back from North Carolina IN THE WINTER! That includes winter snowy storms and all of that fun crap. So anyways, I was stressed, because I had an appointment that I REALLY needed to get to. That appointment was tubing with my conference friends....aka Mark and Lauren. Luckily we got back in time. So when I got to the snow tubing place, I gave Mark a ring to find out where he was...and where the tubing was as a matter of fact...I'd never been tubing there before...so anyways, once I got to this hill thing, (Lauren wasn't there yet) there was one person in a red coat standing, and they were standing at the top of a snow packed, icy, and fairly steep slope. I immediately (ok, well not immediately. It took me like 2 seconds) figured out who the person was (Mark) , and suddenly that person was barreling down the icy hill. I, being the genius I am, went forward like 4 steps (with my stride, its quite a bit.) and got a flying tackle hug from Mark. (No, for those of you that don't know, he's NOT my boyfriend [not that I would object if he was...I mean, I only like him... :} ] he's just my friend) The hug lasted a couple (or like 5) seconds. We kinda spun a little bit (like a half turn people. NOT 'picking someone up and spinning' type thing) because he was kinda to the side, and the path was icy. Trust me. This doesn't help the awkwardness. I don't know about him, but it was kinda a body slam, and I needed a couple seconds to recover. This is where the awkwardness really starts to set in. My dad and sisters were still behind me, and I could feel my sisters gawking, and my dad trying to burn a hole in my back with his eyes. That was REALLY awkward, because even though we were just exchanging out of breath 'hi's' (we did just sorta body slam mind you!) and recovering, my family was staring at me like we were making out. Mark told me when we were all going back up the hill that he was trying to knock me over...he nearly succeeded, and I have a feeling that would've REALLY made the awkwardness worse.

So that will be all for now.

Oh the awkwardness...

FREEEEEEDDDDOOOMMM!!!!

Home again, home again, jiggety jig! I'M BAAAACCCCKKKKKK and I would like to christen this moment with a complaint!

UGH! I officially hate my laptop. Or my internet connection. Either one. I have been trying to get on my computer and check e-mails and post ALL WEEK. So now I'm going through blog withdrawal because every time I had some smart remark or annoying whine (when something happens, my mind kind of goes into blog explanation mode) I wasn't able to bother you guys with it! So why didn't you get on your main computer and blog instead of leaving us alone? Excellent question, unseen member of my internet audience! Ok, so that was me...LOL...But my dad was up, and being the awesome person that he is, he was on the main computer 24/7 playing Bejeweled. ARGH! So that brings me to something that I REALLY wanted to rant about while he was here and blow off some steam, but here it goes.

My dad is RIDICULOUS. He has ridiculous demands, spazzes out about ridiculous things, and acts ridiculous!! He wanted us to make the house spotless basically every day, and if we didn't do something he said RIGHT AWAY, he would start complaining about how we never do anything without someone ragging on us. One time when he was nagging, he had the nerve to say

"You guys have basically 3 women in the house, since Alexandra is still young, so this house should practically be like a postcard house."

That REALLY pissed me off. That's MAJOR rudeness, and plus, technically, Victoria and I are TEENAGERS (Well, she's 12, but she's basically a teen and shes taller than most high schoolers. ) and teens are stereotypically not fantastic at cleaning up after themselves. It's a disease that most of us have. And to add to that fact, my mom works all the time, and right now she's on a work schedule that gets her off at like 2:45 when she doesn't work overtime, but she has to get up way early to get to work on time, so she is normally exhausted when she gets home.
But anyways, another thing that really made me mad while he was here (he left this morning) was that he was UBER lazy. He spent practically every minute we were at my house on the computer, where he either played Bejeweled, or looked at ESPN and similar sites for sports updates! Also, he didn't make, or even OFFER to make dinner while he was here. So if I didn't want a turkey sandwich for breakfast, lunch, and dinner,(hmm. That sounds like Christmas when he comes up!) I had to make dinner. I mean, he didn't even ask if we were hungry or ask if we wanted to order pizza. He didn't even help with dinner. He did the dishes maybe three times. He was up here from the 11th to the 24th. So on the 12th, we had roasted pork loin with potatoes, apple, and sage. On the 13th, we ate out. On the 14th, we had baked potato soup. On the 15th, we went to Sonshine Fest (I'll talk about that when i get done ranting) so we had Wendy's for lunch, and sandwiches for dinner. Every single day of Sonshine, (from the 15th-18th, or 4 days) we had sandwiches (would you like turkey and cheese or chicken and cheese?) for lunch and dinner, and yogurt for breakfast. Then when we got back, we spent 3 days eating sandwiches. On the 22nd, Victoria and I made pancakes and eggs and grits. On the 23rd, (yesterday) I made chicken with lemon balm, and rice and broccoli.

My final point in this one sided debate, is that he is always like "You guys fight all the time....blah blah blah....no one but you guys....blah blah blah..." and then his signature line, "back when I was a little boy, my siblings and I didn't fight anywhere near as much as you guys!" Ok. So here's the thing. My dad was raised in like the 1800's! I'm just kidding. That's an exaggeration, but apparently there was like black and white TV and stuff when he was growing up. He's old. And if you look at any family now, and you look at how much the siblings fight, its probably not quite as bad as how much we fight, but it's still quite a bit.

Ok. I think I'm done. Not necessarily with whining (that stuff builds up when I don't blog for a while) but for the most part with whining about my dad. So ONWARDS!

Sonshine was AWESOME, as it was last year. For those of you that don't know, it's a music festival, it goes on for 4 days, it's normally in mid July. It feature Christian bands (or bands with christian faith? Something like that. I'm not sure of the exact qualifications) OH MY GOD. I'm sitting here and I was like "WTF IS THAT?!" because I heard this monstrous noise outside. So it's hailing and storming monstrously outside. LOL sorry about that. But anyways, WAIT! Victoria just brought me a piece of hail that's about the size of a ping pong ball. I hope my garden isn't destroyed. For real now. Back to Sonshine. Not to be confused with Sunshine. So I went to see a bunch of bands.

-This Beautiful Republic
-Barlow Girl
-Family Force Five
-Skillet
-Children 18:3
-Day of Fire
-Fireflight
-Red
-Hawk Nelson
-Decyfer Down
-Thousand Foot Krutch
-Nevertheless
-Reliant K

The bands in red are the ones I hadn't heard before, and I ended up at their concert by chance or because they had cool names and I wanted to check them out. My favorite concerts out of the bands I went were by far, Skillet, Family Force Five, and Thousand Foot Krutch.
At the TFK concert, I crowd surfed, and it was FREAKIN AWESOME! I didn't tell my mom or dad though, because they probably would've freaked. That's about it because as usual, I'm getting inpatient with typing. On to the next subject.

I'm depressed. I'm going off to Y(MCA) Camp from all week and that means I'm leaving on Sunday. It's not that I'm not excited to go, its that I wish I wasn't going this week. I wanted to go to the first session, which was like a week after school got out. The cabins are cleaner, the counselors aren't tired, and then the rest of my summer is basically free. But my sisters INSISTED that we go to a different one. And therefore I am mad at them. Why am I mad about something that seems so small? Because it means that I'm missing Lauren's 16TH BIRTHDAY PARTY. That's like the WORST party to miss! It's a sweet 16 and I feel horrible! Oh, and Mark is going. That makes me seem like a stalker or something, but don't forget that he also is technically my friend, and I haven't seen him in a while. So that is over all a depressing thing. The good news is though, my mom hatched a plan, that we (as in my sisters and I *rolls eyes*) could have a cook out sorta thing at our house, and invite our friends. It'd be from like 2 to 10 or something like that. I think that's a good plan! Although my paranoidness gets to me at that point because half of my brain imagines it as a fun party, and the other half starts freaking out and imagining it as a horrible disaster where all of my friends mob Mark and interrogate him, and my sisters friends are total monsters and somehow Alexandra overhears someone or something and then she knows who I like and she'll tell him. UGH. But I will go through with it anyways, because there seem to be more positives than negatives.

All done...

lol wow i'm sad.

so today, i went to home depot because i needed bird net for my summer project (a garden). one of my strawberry plants has lots of cute strawberries (ranging from decent size to just starting, so i won't really specify a size) growing on it, and i need to protect them from the birds, and Alexandra (she's a fruit monster and I'm kinda worried that she's gonna try and eat them before they're even ripe. or at all. lol)

oh wait! have i introduced you to my sisters? I'm pretty sure i neglected to mention them when i did my first post.

Victoria-12, sassy, 5' 11"-ish (holy CRAP!), fairly decent most of the time, just kinda talks to my friends without hanging on them.

Alexandra- 10, bossy, pushy, cranky, preppy, annoying, significantly less than 5' 11" lol. well, maybe not. idk how tall she is. i know she's taller than Queenie by at least a couple inches, but most people are..., very hard to get along with, tries to suck up to my friends.

it's not that i don't love my sisters equally (well..that's not entirely true...jk!...maybe.) it's just that most of the time, Victoria is so much easier to get along with! but ANYWAYS!

wait....where was i? oh YEAH! and so i got the bird net, and i started un-rolling it. it was a hassle from the start! so i started breaking little stick thingies to hold the net to the ground (don't worry, it's all relevant!) and eventually, i was looking at it, and some of the net was drooping onto the plants because I'm incapable of doing something like this right, and i was already sick of that crap. so i grabbed my scissors, some of my stick thingies, and pulled back some of the net and scooched forward so i was under it. like an idiot.
so once i got my stuff all tied down or whatever, i was like "ok, now i can just cut this and tie it closed.
problem is, the stuff was all bunched and twisted behind me, so i was trapped in. AND i couldn't tell where all of the stuff was, because in the right lighting (which just happened to be most of the light outside of course) it kinda "disappears". and so i grabbed my scissors and started cutting, but thanks to the amazing disappearing net, i couldn't tell where i had cut, and i was cutting blindly. and then the little screw thing holding the scissor blades together would get caught on the net, and it was a DISASTER!
i swear to god, it took me 20min to cut myself out of the netting, and i was pissed off when i got done!

so imagine a 5' 9", 14 year old girl in a t-shirt and shorts with wild hair and filthy bare feet trapped in bird netting with a couple little strawberry plants, sitting in the dirt with scissors, cutting madly at what seems like practically nothing, and thrashing a little and muttering to themselves angrily as they try to hold up bunches of black plastic net.
SURE! you laugh now, but how about i trap you in an area that's about 2x2 (feet) and then wrap some practically invisible, stubborn, plastic-ish netting! and then, tie it down, give you some scissors, and tell you to get out! we'll see how funny it is after that!
well, actually, i think it's pretty funny now, but at the time it wasn't! it sucked!

and in the mean time, my broccoli and chives are growing like crazy and my mom is freaking out about the one flower on the tomato plants. lol

so that's my story for the day.

and also, i went to my aunt's campground yesterday (well, technically, its not HERS, but she practically lives out there in the summer, so we just call it hers.) and there were some army guys there that had just come back from an Iraq tour or whatever, and most of them were CUTE! lol
my mom and aunt were like "if you were like 3 years older, you'd be having a field day out there!
but anyways, they were all over the place, fishing and talking and hanging out at the canteen and stuff, and i guess when Victoria was over watching my baby cousin and she was going back to my aunt's camper, there were these guys playing football. she said she was kinda watching them, and this guy kept like looking at her, and he missed a pass or whatever and he started doing a bunch of push ups super fast all of the sudden.
lol i was trying to tell her that he was probably trying to show off for her or something, but she was all like "no no. he was probably in a contest or something with his friends." i. think. not.
who knows? maybe I'm wrong, but normally, guys do stuff like a million fast push ups when they're trying to show off, and since Victoria is a giant, and has been mistaken for a high schooler more than once, i wouldn't be surprised if he thought she was older than 12. lol
so yeah. now i feel all boy crazy because it's not like i wasn't thinking about being older than i am. but it was like 100 something cute guys all running around! and Victoria was thinking it too!
lol i am SUCH a weirdo.

hopefully i don't have to re-open that netting to water the plants, 'cause i might not make it out if i do...
